Content

To give students a thorough understanding of gene structure, gene expression and regulation, and mechanisms fundamental to cell differentiation

 

Introduce the student to safety procedures in laboratory work via 8 on-line safety courses. 

Learning Outcome

After completing the course the student is expected to:

Students must be able to pass the 14 safety couses in order to participate in the laboratory session (described more in detail in Absalon)

Knowledge

  • Discuss theoretical molecular biological knowledge, particularly in relation to the human organism.
  • Be critical to available molecular biology knowledge
  • Explain the fundamental principles of basic gene technology procedures and biotechnological production methods


Skill

  • Master the practical skills needed to plan and execute fundamental gene technology procedures

  • Critically interpret molecular biological results

7.5 ECTS-points will be credited after passing the exam in Molecular Biology and Genetics, Bioinformatics and Systems Biology, and Advanced Cell Biology
