Identification of fungi.

The course gives an update on the morphology and taxonomy of larger fungi, and trains search of ecological niches in the field and subsequent identification based on interactive computer-based keys.

Learning Outcome
Knowledge:
By completing the course the student can:

  • recognize a selection of common or otherwise relevant fungal species from the Danish nature.
  • demonstrate an overview of the basic taxonomy of fungi.


Skills:
By completing the course the student can:

  • identify unknown fungi using the relevant tools of identification.
  • utilize the fungi as tools for e.g. bioindication and conservation.
  • recognize the most important poisonous fungi and have knowledge about their effects.


Competencies:
By completing the course the student can:

  • undertake identification jobs related to fungi.
  • use fungi in nature management.
  • head og assist on public mushroom excursions.
