Content

The course will start with lectures about the different possibilities to engage with the material as well as some historical background. The course will provide students with the opportunity to put previously learned knowledge into practice by developing their own project (poster, video, exhibition etc.). The topic of the project(s) will be decided by the students with input from lecturers. The Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies houses an extensive collection of Near Eastern archaeological excavation archives, including artifacts, maps, photographs, site plans, artifact drawings, recording forms and site diaries. Many of these archives predate the digital age. The students will thus develop a project aimed at breathing new life into these materials. This could include digitizing the original site plans, photographs and drawings, making 3D models of artifacts, digitizing recording forms and site diaries, etc.

The exam can only be taken after the described project has been finished and consists of a one-week paper.
