This bachelor level course serves as an introduction to anthropological research methods and students will acquire hands-on experience in using qualitative methods for data collection. Special emphasis will be put on anthropological fieldwork, participant observation and other field techniques.
The course can advantageously be taken with anthropological and ethnological theory.
Learning Outcome
Describe and understand a range of anthropological methods for
data collection and analysis.
Critically evaluate and choose anthropological research methods
that are appropriate to a specific research topic.
Teaching and learning methods
The course is comprised of
lectures, project work and short field practices.
Remarks
This course can not be
taken by European Ethnology students.
