This course also examines the relationship between population and development, and their potential consequences from sociological, economic and geographical perspectives.

Within the course we will also demonstrate thematic examples and tasks, including:

creating population pyramid. –It is the most intuitive way to show the age and gender composition of the population in a society;

demographic analysis of economic growth. –It can reveal how the population age structure plays a role in the economic development of a society and quantify the so-called population dividend;

descriptive maps of population. –It will show the distribution of the population via maps and demonstrate the spatial heterogeneity of population dynamics;

visualization of migration. –It shows how the population flow looks like and how migration shapes the age composition of the local population;
