Master of Disaster Management (MDMa)  hosts a compulsory orientation course to the new full programme master's students.

The orientation course will introduce students to the UCPH academic system, the MDMa programme, student services, and the various resources on campus that are here to help MDMa students achieve their academic goals.

The orientation course also covers practical information such as visa regulations, health insurance and services and cross-cultural adjustment.

Learning Outcome

On completion of the course, students should be able to:

Knowledge

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the UCPH academic system and the MDMa programme's curriculum and guidelines
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the MDMa programme’s internal structure, policies, and procedures that impact student degree attainment
  • Be knowledgeable in the academic support  and co-curricular/​well-beingresources that will enhance their academic success

  • Be acquainted with basic information on the Danish society and UCPH campus life

Skills:

  • Develop a better ability to engage with and relate to peers and staff  across disciplines and work collaboratively.
  • Demonstrate ability to access information and use UCPH Digital platforms  in a manner that supports their academic goals

 

Competencies:

  • Work in a team and do presentations.
  • Engage in dialogue and discussions in class and teamwork.
  • Apply tools used for team building and stress management and demonstrate knowledge about interdisciplinary and cultural communication.
