A student who has completed a project outside the course scope valued at has acquired:
Knowledge:
- The issue as well as relevant methods and theories.
- How to deal with an issue within a defined academic framework, with emphasis on problem formulation, problem analysis and action plan.
Skills:
- Perform a problem analysis on the basis of a methodological/theoretical framework and evaluate the importance of the method/theory chosen.
- Present a clear, unambiguous problem formulation and communicate the consideration of same in a clear, straightforward manner.
- Evaluate alternative methodological/theoretical approaches to dealing with the problem formulation.
- Search for information independently.
Competences:
- Reach an unambiguous conclusion in relation to the problem formulation and, more generally, in relation to the academic area.
- Reflect critically and independently on the assignment field and its scientific and societal importance.
- Discuss the scientific and societal importance of the issue.

Project report may be completed individually or by groups of up to 4 students.
The project report may either be a joint report or a report stating the contribution of each student in the group.
Even if the group has prepared a report stating the contributions of the individual students, the students will be examined on the content of the entire report at the oral exam, taking into account the academic capabilities of the individual student. The assessment will be based on the individual student’s contribution to the report and the oral presentation.
The project outside the course scope is concluded with an oral defense. For single student the defense lasts max. 60 minutes incl. an oral presentation of 10-20 min followed by a discussion lasting approx. 20-30 min. For group reports the presentation can last max. 30 min followed by a discussion of approx. 20-30 minutes pr. person.
Whether the final assignment is written as group work the student may, where there is an oral defense, choose individual oral defense. The exam for group projects may take the form of a separate examination of the individual students without the attendance of other group members, if the student so wishes.
The page limit and required format of the project report are as follows:
Maximum 30 A4-pages for one student and 45 A4-pages for group report (excluding front page, table of contents, references and appendices).
Times New Roman, font 12 (or equivalent) and 2.5 cm margins all around

ChatGPT or similar Large Language Models (LLM) is entitled to be used as support tool as long as the rules and regulations determined by UCPH are complied with ( link to KU-net). ChatGPT or another LLM is a source which means that the same requirements applies for using quotation marks and source referencing as with all other sources. Otherwise, it will be a case of plagiarism.
Any use of ChatGPT must be indicated in the methodology section.
