Content

Students will analyse a class of Middle Eastern archaeological materials (or a related category of archaeologically relevant objects, e.g. archival material, spatial data) in self-study under the supervision of a teacher. The class of material and type of analysis will be discussed and decided between the student and the supervisor. Students will mostly work independently, but there will be regular meetings with the supervisor to discuss the ongoing work. Students will record archaeological objects in a database, which they may need to design anew or modify from an existing design. They will then analyse the collected data using statistical methods and present results in the form of a written report, supplemented by figures (drawings and/or photographs of objects, graphs and, if applicable, maps).
