APSB23607U Cognitive Modelling
Bacheloruddannelsen i Kognitions- og datavidenskab.
The course focuses on the development and application of advanced mathematical models of cognitive processes. Topics include linear algebra, parameter estimation, deterministic vs. stochastic models, cognitive architectures, termination rules, computer simulation, and model selection.
On completion of the course, students should be able to:
Knowledge
• describe mathematical methods, including linear algebra,
maximum-likelihood estimation, and computer simulation for
cognitive modelling.
• describe the use of cognitive models in cognitive psychology, and
neighboring fields, such as cognitive neuroscience and machine
learning.
Skills
• build, derive, and implement basic cognitive models.
• use cognitive models in the analysis of data with the help of
linear algebra, mathematical analysis, programming, and employment
of specific software packages.
Competencies
• identify, evaluate, and discus theoretical assumptions, methods,
and use of cognitive modelling.
750 standard pages of compulsory literature.
• Sandsynlighedsregning og statistik
• Avanceret kognitionspsykologi
• Eksperimentel metode 2
• Introduktion til diskret matematik og algoritmer
• Algoritmer og datastrukturer
