NBIB15008U Microbial Biotechnology
BSc Programme in Biology
BSc Programme in Molecular Biomedicine
Significant areas within the following topics are covered:
- Basic topics in microbial physiology
- Industrial strain improvement
- Product Optimization
- Starter cultures
- Primary / secondary metabolite excretion (enzymes and penicillin production)
- Greentech, e.g. bioremediation
- Bioenergy production
- Production of pharmaceuticals, e.g. antibiotics, relevant to microbial biotechnology
