Volume 2019/2020
Education

Content
“Contemporary American Politics in 2020” focuses on American politics as we approach the important upcoming 2020 general election. How adept has the U.S. political system been in terms of accommodating the unconventional President Donald Trump? Will Trump run again, and can he win? Has democracy in America been imperiled by polarization and personality politics? Will 2020 see American politics revert to normality again? Answering the questions above requires knowledge of the US political system. The course gives an in-depth survey on how the political system works and how that system interacts with wider American culture outside of Washington, D.C.
