BSc Programme in Pharmacy - elective

Content

The course intends to improve students’ understanding of comtemporary social pharmacy i.e. current challenges to rational use of medicine as well as to improve students' ability to work independent and problem-oriented in order to help resolve relevant problems in the field.

Each year the course will focus on a new contemporary social pharmacy topic such as the increase of antibiotic resistance or prioritization of medicines. Students are presented to literature and several different actors’ experiences with the contemporary social pharmacy theme in place through a number of class seminars.

The students then define a sub-topic within the annual social pharmacy theme and work in groups to gain insight into this case by seeking interaction with different actors in the area. Increased understanding through this interaction with stakeholders regards both the background for identified challenges as well as development of innovative solutions to the challenges based on insight in innovation processes. Further, how to present appropriate solutions will be addressed. The students receive supervision in relation to this work.
