Master in Film and Media Studies
The course applies theoretical and analytical approaches to the study of the role of journalism in culture and society. Thematically the course, among other things, focuses on the influence of journalism on public opinion and politics in both everyday contexts and situations of conflict or crisis; the importance of cultural and lifestyle journalism to art, consumption and everyday life; and the historical transformations of journalism in light of national and international media and societal change. A current through the course will, for example, be the influence of media technological change on the professional and institutional frameworks of journalism.
