Content
The purpose of the course is to equip the student with theoretical and practical competencies enabling him or her to manage patients with oto-rhino-laryngological problems in A&E and general practice.
Learning Outcome
The purpose of the course is to enable the student to:
  • Explain the pathophysiology, including etiology and pathogenesis of common oto-rhino-laryngological diseases
  • Describe symptoms and specify test methods in the common oto-rhino-laryngological diseases, including independently carry out the subject's basic research methods
  • By inspection and palpation to detect fractures in the facial skeleton
  • Explain the treatment options and prognosis of the common oto-rhino- laryngological diseases
  • Describe the epidemiology and opportunities for prevention of the common oto-rhino- laryngological diseases
  • In detail describe an emergency tracheotomy (coniotomy) and an ordinary uncomplicated tracheotomy
  • Diagnose and treat common acute and chronic diseases of the ear, nose, sinuses, cavum oris, pharynx, larynx and soft throat tissue
  • Diagnose and treat upper respiratory passage obstructions in children and adults
  • Be familiar with ear irrigation, removal of foreign bodies, and fine-needle aspiration

Certificates for the Clinical Course in Psychiatry including Children and Youth Psychiatry and the Clinical Course in Social Medicine and Rehabilitation; passes in the Exam in Medicine, Surgery, Pathology, Pharmacology, and Anaesthesiology, the OSCE in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Anaesthesiology, Health Legislation, and Diagnostics, and the Exam in Medical Sociology
Practical training in clinical departments, lectures and classroom instruction
