NKEB14002U Advanced Topics in Chemistry
The course is based on self-selected topics in chemistry. There is a focusing on understanding an advanced topic and training in an independent evaluation of evidence from published papers. The project is finalized by a written report following standard principles for academic writing which is then defended at an oral examination.

Knowledge about an academically defined problem
Knowledge about the scientific literature which relates to the
hypothesis of the project
Skills:
Indentify and describe a well-defined hypothesis
Provide an analysis of the determination factors and the
consequences related to the hypotheses
Oral and written communication of the results of the group work

Be able to apply a critical approach when discussing the results of
the project
Be able to provide justified suggestions for future
research

- Written assignmentOral examination, 30 minAt the latest one week before the end of the course, a written assignment should be handed in.
If missing or a late submission it will be graded as "absent". For timely delivery there will be a 30 min oral examination based on the assignment. The exam will begin with a 10-20 minute presentation by the student, followed by an oral examination. - Marking scale
