Content
This course offers a survey of British literature across a range of genres (poetry, drama, fiction) from the 1950s until the present day. As well as developing familiarity with the major currents of British writing in this period, students will be introduced, through a combination of close-reading and theoretical-approaches, to British literature as discipline and institution, and to British literary perspective on issues of identity (gender, class, race/ethnicity, nationality, etc.); genre; modernity / postmodernity, etc.
