Content

The aim of this summer-school is  to focus on the intersections of Gender and body dynamics in the 21st century, with a specific focus on connecting comparisons between China and Denmark and the Nordic countries.  The course will depart from experimental interdisciplinary methodologies using texts and visual materials.  Also research approaches to comparative analysis in the context of globalization, neoliberal reforms and ways of life in East and West will be introduced ( Aihwa Ong et al)  The course shall present themes and cases related to body and gender dynamics, and new ways of doing middle class and everyday life in the home, family, marriage and  parenting, as well as  mobility  and and new lifestyle practices.

Learning Outcome

The course will:

  • provide students with methodological skills and make them able to approach conceptual debates on gender and body in connecting comparative perspectives to learn about relevant  thematic issues in related to gender, boty and everyday life

 

• analyze  signifinant  cases in Danish, European and/or Chinese contexts!

A free written take-home essay of maximum 7 ½ pages of 2400 characters. If written by a group, the essay may be 50 % of 2400 characters each page longer per additional student.
