TEMP000010 Women in Science Theme Day
Volume 2013/2014
Content
The one day course "Women in Science" is organized by the strategic research council at the Department of Biology (BIO-SFU) and will contain the following elements:
- Opening lecture about the latest in research and statistics on when and why female scientists are underrepresented on the academic career path.
- Two lectures by well-known female professors in the area of molecular biology.
- An interactive workshop organized by psychologist Eva Fårup Hertz.
- A mandatory poster session where the participants present their research projects and hear about the research carried out by other participants.
Besides the scientific inputs from the lectures and the poster
session, participating PhD students will obtain valuable tools and
knowledge to aid them in developing an academic career.
Furthermore, we hope that the theme day will create a sense -
particularly in the female PhD-students - that they too can expect
support and are wanted in the Department, also at later stages of
their career.
Registration before Nov. 1st at:
www.bio.ku.dk/biowis is
mandatory.
Academic qualifications
The seminar is especially
aimed at PhD students and postdocs, but all BIO academic staff are
