NSCPHD1128 Trends in Transport Biology
The goal of this course is to critically review current state-of-the-art scientific papers, concepts and methods within the field of transport biology. Each participant in the course will have to select a topic, find the papers for plenary discussion and host the journal club at least once by giving a short presentation on the background and on the selected article as well as providing questions for plenary discussion. In total, the participants will read and discuss 10 selected high-impact articles and 10 background reviews.
The objectives of the course are to give the PhD-student knowledge in the field of transport biology, develop an ability to critically read the primary research literature, prepare for publishing and get trained to discuss science in depth. The milieu of the course is very informal, as the PhD students themselves discuss scientific areas without the presence of a PI, which is important for the development of the PhD students as individual and independent researchers.
10 selected primary articles with at least 10 background reviews.
