NSCPHD1099 Become a Confident Conference Speaker in English

Learn how to communicate your research in clear and understandable academic English. Get feedback from your instructor and your peers during a one-day workshop. Upon registration you will receive a compendium with language tips, useful examples and expressions (for guiding your audience, structuring lists, referring to slides, answering questions, and more). Consult the compendium to prepare a 10-minute PowerPoint presentation on the basis of your conference proposal or your PhD project description. Send your PP slides to the instructor one week before the workshop. The workshop will start with the presentations – you will receive comments on your spoken English, performance and slides. Then you will have time to improve your presentation and slide show. At the end of the workshop you will present once again to see how your performance has benefited from all your work. This workshop is for PhD students at all stages of their research process.
