The course will deal with the following themes:

• Made in China, Desiring China, Privatizing China
• Translating Gender, Feminisms and Queer between China and Denmark
• Transnational institutions, gender and diversity
• Mainstreaming/Entanglements of NGOs, the party-state and foreign donors
• Urban modernity and Middle Class Home Consumption
• Doing Motherhood and Masculinity
Learning Outcome
The course will:

• provide students with conceptual knowledge of related to gender dynamics in transnational perspectives.

• provide students with methodological skills and make them able to approach conceptual debates and thematic issues in the intersecting field of gender in connecting comparisons

• present current strategies and burning cases in Danish, European and Chinese contexts!

Size: A Free written take-home essay of maximum 7 ½ pages of 2400 characters each page (incl. spaces). If written by a group, the essay may be 50 % of 2400 characters each page longer per additional student.
Attention: When handing in as a group, the contribution of each student must be pointed out.
