Content
The purpose of the course is to enable the student to:
- Explain the pathophysiology, including etiology and pathogenesis of the common dermatological and venereal diseases
- Describe the epidemiology and opportunities for the prevention of the common dermatological and venereal diseases
- Record anamnesis and perform physical examinations for dermatological and venereal diseases
- Explain the life-threatening diseases in the fields of dermatology and venereology
- Describe biopsy techniques for routine histology and immunofluorescence, sampling for viruses, techniques for scabies diagnosis, skin testing by light dermatosis, epicutaneous testing and skin prick testing
- Perform a venereology examination
- Diagnose and treat common skin and venereal diseases independently
Formal requirements
Certificates for
the Clinical Course in Psychiatry including Children and Youth
Psychiatry and the Clinical Course in Social Medicine and
Rehabilitation; passes in the Exam in Medicine, Surgery, Pathology,
Pharmacology, and Anaesthesiology, the OSCE in Internal Medicine,
Surgery, Anaesthesiology, Health Legislation, and Diagnostics, and
the Exam in Medical Sociology

Criteria for exam assesment
To obtain approval for the logbook and thereby gain a course certificate the student must be able to:
- Explain the pathophysiology, including etiology and pathogenesis of the common dermatological and venereal diseases
- Describe the epidemiology and opportunities for the prevention of the common dermatological and venereal diseases
- Record anamnesis and perform physical examinations for dermatological and venereal diseases
- Explain the life-threatening diseases in the fields of dermatology and venereology
