Kursusindhold

Kurset præsenter udvalgte historiske, kulturelle, og samfundsmæssige problemstillinger som de studeres i Asien og i det studerede sprogområde. I fællestimerne diskuteres problemstillingerne i en bredere regional, teoretisk og metodisk kontekst. I de holddelte timer diskuteres det hvordan de overordnede problemstillinger kommer til udtryk og undersøges i det studerede sprogområde.

At the examination, the student can demonstrate:

Knowledge and understanding of

academic studies of specific historical, cultural and societal issues in Asia and in the language studied by the student.

theoretical and methodical approaches to the study of Asia.

 

Skills in

understanding the study of specific issues in Asia in a broader theoretical and methodological context.

adopting a comparative approach to issues in the language studied by the student.

contributing insights and examples from the language studied by the student to general discussions of academic issues.

writing concisely in compliance with academic standards of writing.

 

Competencies in

discussing the theories and methods used in the study of historical, cultural and societal topics in the language studied by the student.

comparing issues in Asia across language areas.

 

Syllabus

The instructor(s) entitled to conduct examinations specify(-ies) a joint syllabus for each specialisation of 1,200 pages of academic literature.

 

Teaching and working methods

Class instruction.

 

Exam provisions

Form of exam: Portfolio.

Scope: 11-15 standard pages.

Assessment: Internal exam by a single examiner with assessment based on the 7-point grading scale.

Regulations for group exams: The exam can only be taken individually.

Exam language(s): Danish or English.

Permitted exam aids: All Make-up exam/resit: Take-home assignment on a set subject, 11-15 standard pages, 7 days for the response.

Special provisions: A portfolio consists of 2-3 written or audio visual products prepared during the semester and commented on by the lecturer and/or fellow students.

Feedback is given on products submitted within the deadlines set by the lecturer during the semester. The feedback may consist of individual and/or collective feedback from the lecturer and/or fellow students. If assignments are not submitted on time, the possibility of feedback will be lost. The exam consists of the final portfolio comprising a complete set of set assignments, in which it has been possible for the student to incorporate any feedback received and has ensured that the total length of the assignment is within 11-15 standard pages.
