Content
Epigraphy serves as primary documentary evidence to reconstruct the history, culture and language of ancient civilizations. The course will deal with the basic issues in the Epigraphy of the Indo-European languages. Special attention will be paid to the analysis of the inscriptions as linguistic source for reconstructing the protolanguage. The course will be focused on Italic, Greek and Anatolian inscriptions.
