This course follows Mesopotamian Language and Writing 1, and is split in two parts, one part is a continuation of Akkadian (Akkadian 3), primarily Standard Babylonian texts in cuneiform writing, and the other part is the continuation of Sumerian 1. Students will deepen their knowledge of Akkadian and Sumerian language, grammar, and script by studying these via traditional and digital methods. Students will also acquire a critical approach when using traditional and digital tools in text analysis. During the course, we will discuss digital storage and use of data from ancient texts
