Criteria for exam assesment

To qualify for a grade of 12 on the 7 point scale, the student must be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in ophthalmology at a level capable of serving as the basis for an introduction post and the career pathway leading to specialisation in family medicine
  • Diagnose the acute/subacute life-threatening conditions and blindness
  • Diagnose and treat the most common infectious and allergic eye diseases
  • Diagnose the more common eye diseases and be informed about their treatment
  • Assess the eye diseases that can be prevented by timely action
  • Explain the requirements for visual function in the context of motoring and vocational activities
  • Explain the way eye diseases manifest themselves in the case of disease elsewhere in the body
  • Explain the overall scope of the subject and areas for development in future
