Aim:

The aim of the course is to give participants up to date knowledge on physiological aspects of relevance for performance in elite sports, i.e. specific insight to training strategies/practices in various sports and nutritional interventions (supplementations) of importance for performance optimization and adaptations in different environmental settings. Emphasis is on endurance- and team-sports.

The program will cover:

  • Performance of the top-athlete
  • Training of the top-athlete – from the top-class rower to the soccer player and ultra-endurance athlete
  • Environmental factors and ergogenic aids in the top-athlete – optimizing athletic performance, performance in the heat and effects of altitude training on performance
  • Planning of training of the top-athlete – sessions with top coaches from Olympic level athletes collaborating with Team Denmark.

Course fee

Participants are to pay a course fee of 150 EUR. Each student must pay and arrange their own travel to and from the course. Included in the fee is coffee/tea, fruit and lunch during the day. A course dinner is also included.

1) Lectures on performance and training of the top-athlete.

2) Presentations of relevant methodologies and discussion of the implementation of these methods in the top-athlete.

3) Student presentations of their PhD projects related to endurance or team-sports.

The social program includes physical activity, a course dinner and an evening at a pub.
